Privacy Policy for Post Atelier

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Overview

Post Atelier ("the App") is developed by Dave Kok ("Developer", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App, and the website at postatelier.app ("the Website"), handle your information.

The short version: your photos and projects stay on your device. The App has no user accounts and shows no ads. Two kinds of information leave your device: what is needed to manage your subscription, handled by Apple and by our subscription provider RevenueCat, and automatic crash reports, which contain no photos or personal content and which you can switch off in Settings. The Website uses no analytics and sets no cookies of its own. If you join the waitlist, we use your email address only to send you news about Post Atelier, starting with its launch.

Your Content

The photos you import, along with your projects, layouts, and settings, are stored locally on your device. This content is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no access to it at any time.

Photo Library Access

Post Atelier requests access to your device's photo library so you can import photos into your projects. Photos you import are copied to the App's local storage on your device and are used solely to display and export your designs within the App. Photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any third party.

You can also add photos from other apps through the iOS share sheet, or from the Files app. These photos are handled the same way: they are copied to the App's local storage on your device and are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any third party.

When you export a post, the App uses the standard iOS share sheet. What you do with the exported images (save, share, send) is handled by your device's operating system and is outside the scope of this policy.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Post Atelier offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Two parties are involved in processing a purchase:

Apple
Purchases are made through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and provides us with your subscription status and transaction receipts. Your payment details (such as card numbers) are handled entirely by Apple and are never shared with us. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to validate and manage your subscription. When you view plans, start a free trial, purchase, or restore a subscription, RevenueCat processes your subscription and transaction status, a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to your name or email, and basic technical information such as app version, operating system version, device type, and approximate region. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment card details. RevenueCat's handling of this information is governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

This subscription information is used only to determine whether your subscription is active and to provide the features you paid for. It is not used for advertising.

Diagnostics and Crash Reports

If the App crashes, freezes, or is shut down by iOS for using too much memory, it sends us an automatic report so we can find the fault and fix it. This is on by default. You can switch it off at any time in Settings, under "Share crash reports".

A report contains technical information only: the app version and build number, your iOS version and device model (for example, "iPhone 15 Pro"), how much memory and storage the App was using, which stage of startup it had reached, the location in our code that failed, and a randomly generated installation identifier that is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID. It also includes a rough size band for your library (for example, "1,000 to 5,000 photos"), because a fault that only appears on very large libraries cannot be reproduced without knowing that.

The same crash reporting also notes when the App is opened and closed, how long it stayed open, and whether that use ended normally or in a crash, together with the app version and the same installation identifier. We use this only to see what share of uses end in a crash, for example after a new version. It says nothing about what you did in the App.

A report never contains your photos, your project or gallery names, your captions, your file names, a screenshot of the App, or your IP address.

We use Sentry, a crash reporting service, to receive and store these reports. Sentry acts as our data processor, the reports are stored in the European Union, and they are deleted automatically after a short retention period. Sentry's handling of this information is governed by Sentry's Privacy Policy. We use these reports only to find and fix faults in the App. They are never used for advertising or profiling, and they are never sold or passed on to anyone else.

What We Do Not Do

No accounts or sign-ups
The App does not require or support user accounts.

No advertising
The App does not display ads or share data with advertisers.

No advertising identifiers
The App does not use advertising identifiers and does not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

No usage analytics
We do not collect analytics about how you use the App or what you create. Nothing is collected about which features you open, which screens you visit, or what you make. The only data collected is the subscription information and the crash reporting described above, including when the App was opened and closed.

The Website

The Website has no user accounts, uses no analytics, and sets no cookies of its own. Its fonts are served from our own server, so visiting it does not send your IP address to a font service.

Server logs
Like any website, our web host automatically records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. These logs are used only to keep the Website running and secure, and are deleted after a limited period.

Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, you give us your email address. The signup form is provided by Squarespace and loads only when you open it. At that point Squarespace, and Google reCAPTCHA (which Squarespace uses to block spam sign-ups), may set cookies and process technical information such as your IP address. We use your email address only to tell you when the App is available and, from time to time, to send you news about Post Atelier. We never sell it or share it with anyone else. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and we keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Squarespace's and Google's handling of this information is governed by Squarespace's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

Your content and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. The App does not sync your content across devices. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your device's standard backup may include the App's local data as part of that backup. This is managed by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The App also offers an optional, manual data backup that you initiate yourself. Any backup file it creates is saved wherever you choose to store it and is never sent to us.

Data Deletion

You can delete any project and its associated data at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored content.

Your subscription and purchase records are held by Apple and RevenueCat. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. To request deletion of the subscription data held by RevenueCat, contact us at the address below and we will act on your request.

Crash reports are deleted automatically after a short retention period. Switching off "Share crash reports" in Settings stops any further reports being sent.

To remove your email address from the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or contact us at the address below.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited personal data described in this policy, or to object to its processing. Because the App does not hold accounts or your content on any server, most of your data never leaves your device. For the subscription data processed by Apple and RevenueCat, for the crash reports processed by Sentry, and for your waitlist email address, you can exercise these rights by contacting us at the address below. Crash reports are stored in the European Union. Note that some subscription data and waitlist sign-ups may be processed outside your country of residence (for example, in the United States) by our service providers.

Children's Privacy

Post Atelier is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-Party Services

The App and the Website use the following third-party services, described above:

Apple / App Store
For purchases and payment processing (Privacy Policy).

RevenueCat
For subscription management (Privacy Policy).

Sentry
For crash and error reporting (Privacy Policy).

Squarespace
For the Website's waitlist form (Privacy Policy), with Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection (Privacy Policy).
Neither the App nor the Website uses any advertising services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Developer be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the App or the use or other dealings in the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
